Clarifying Your Center Line

Just when I thought the 2020 holiday season might enhance post-election recovery of equilibrium, events of January 6 applied further disruption to our personal and communal hearts, psyches, and nervous systems. And yet, thus far, the center holds; the Body Politic continues our journey toward functioning democracy.

Please join me for five Awareness Through Movement lessons designed to clarify your center line, and let’s find out what that might mean for each of you! Is it your spine, your backbone? Is it on your edges, your surface or inside somewhere? How does it support you, anchor you or guide your actions?

I’ll teach one floor lesson, 2 standing, and 2 sitting at a desk or table. Please consider coming even if you cannot organize for a floor lesson or a table top lesson. You can imagine all the movements and get benefit; it’s a different kind of learning for your brain; your body and functioning will respond. Think of Olympic athletes visualizing their routines!

I’m offering classes Monday evenings and Wednesday mornings. The weekly content will be similar for each class. Create a floor space that allows you to slide and move easily; so a towel or sheet rather than a yoga mat will be useful. We’ll also use a firm chair and a table or desk top. The lessons engage your thinking, sensing, feeling, imagining and moving. They can be challenging, puzzling, and FUN!

Fee: $15/lesson, or $60 for 5 lessons

5 Monday Evenings: 6-7 pm; February 8, 15, 22 & March 1 & 8
OR
Wednesday Mornings: 10:00-11:00 am; February 10, 17, 24 & March 3 & 10
